KOLO is a place where functional, preserved, still valuable objects are given a second chance. It offers things that are unnecessary for some, but still usable for others. These come from people who wanted to get rid of them, but instead of throwing them away, they make them available to people who might need them. These are often things that have only been used a few times or, although they show signs of use, they can still serve their purpose. Reuse centers also operate in our neighbors – in Vienna, Prague or Brno. Statistics show that in Vienna, for example, up to 300 tons of waste are saved annually in this way.
Preventing waste and supporting the circular economy in Bratislava were the main motivation of OLO and the capital to create a stable KOLO operation. It also houses a community space for anyone interested in environmental issues and sustainability, and a shared repair shop will be added in the near future. In addition, lectures, workshops and other events to support the circular economy in Bratislava are also organized here.
KOLO – The Bratislava reuse center is open from October 8, 2022, six days a week. On Tuesday to Friday, visitors are welcome from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. KOLO is closed on Mondays.
Visitors can bring reusable items that they no longer need in their household at any time during opening hours from the back of the building.
After all, the best waste is the one that is not created.
